Multiple sources out of Rockingham saying Hussey won't be back. A replacement of NBL quality is expected to sign in the next week or so. Given their history, don't be surprised if it's Kevin White again

A lot of teams still to make announcements. Does NBL1 now require them to announce each player?

Flames budget must be crazy these days. Paying WABL fees for U18's as well.

As the Flames U18 Men's Championship Div coach I strongly suggest you check your sources on that libelous quote. We have a scholarship program whereby one male and one female player across our entire wabl program are selected to have their fees paid for the season, that's it.

Just because our club has money in the bank through increased revenue from some great local sponsorship partners and good governance by our GM and Board of Directors, don't try and tarnish our wabl program thinking it's ok to make an incredibly false statement based off some two bit rumour you heard from someone on a bus who has a sister who has a long lost cousin that knows someone who used to play for the club, because sh!t that MUST be true.

If this has to do with a very handy junior Women's player transferring across following her junior coach then once again, you in fact have zero clue what you are talking about. How do you know it wasn't part of her contract for NBL1? How do you know it's not a club policy for NBL1 players who are still a part of our wabl program to pay reduced fees if any? If you want to call me out that's all fine and well but at least have the maturity to not hide behind some anonymous name on here.

People know who I am and if you're still unaware then rock on down to Bendat on Sunday from the lovely time of 710am and introduce yourself - I'll be there most of the day. Otherwise come to terms that BM has moved clubs in your own private fashion and stop posting unsubstantiated claims on here like you're some prophet.

No nerve... People who know me know I will stick up for my club and I will call out BS - especially when it relates to our juniors and the age group I coach in. Having spoken to our U18 Women's Coach and several board members since the original false claim, I can confirm nothing has been paid for in terms of our wabl players having their fees paid for them unless they are involved with our NBL1 programs, which has been a club policy for several years and will continue to be in the future.

The original claim, "Flames budget must be crazy these days. Paying WABL fees for U18's as well", could very well be construed to mean exactly what you say is happening - NBL1 contracts include WABL fees for those playing U18s.

I don't think it's necessary to read it as saying all U18s are paid for.

But no one is even talking about BM? She's too old for 18’s anyway..

Also, why didn’t you speak to the GM or President? They are the only 2 calling shots these days.

Everyone knows Rocko’s WABL program is a shambles. That’s why kids leave and the only ones who come into WABL are the ones clubs are happy to let go because they cause more trouble than they are worth

Hate to burst your bubble 795 but the results of the under 12 and 14 grading doesn't agree with your observation in fact would appear the opposite. Rockos div 1 teams have out performed Cockburn at all levels. But generally at this age level recruiting hasn’t started

While you might be right about first teams in 2021, Rockingham can barely field teams after that. Half of their teams have 6 or 8 kids, and their 18 girls had at least 1 girls fees paid to get a team going.

Don't even compare to Cockburn. Ridiculous.

1x has a monopoly on a whole area, the other fights with a club 5kms away.

Can’t wait until the next club picks itself up off the canvas and becomes sustainable just to watch the basketball community chase them with pitchforks.

Also Random, you better stop defending, we all know you claim you’re leaving every single year to Willetton anyway.

Would love to see some kind of WABL success ladder on catchment area or enrolled juniors or something to equalize the huge disparity in player numbers at each association. Wonder if BWA keeps these records?

From the looks of Hussey's social media, he is back home in the states.
Seems unlikely he will be back to play NBL1.

Updated Goldfields Giants: Tom Atkinson, Julian Pesava, Dion Collins, Deng Kuany, Jerome Reid, Fletcher Klasztorny, Brandon Holloway, Damon Ballantyne, Sam Morrow

I believe the coaches 6-10" son is also training with them after a stint at high school in the USA.

Good thing none of those Rockingham kids want to go to college then if the club is paying for there fees etc. There goes the amateur status. Well played Flames!!

Geraldton tried and failed 20 years ago or so. They would need to bring in a women's D-league team first I would think.

From what I know Goldfields were looking at 4-5 years in D-League followed by NBL1 after that. I think this year is D-League season 3 or 4, so not far away from NBL1 I reckon.

One player following a coach to Rockingham can hardly be called "recruiting". Several players is a different story.
The reality is that junior coaches should not be actively recruiting but developing the talent in their area. If you are a decent coach running a good program the results will always be positive and you will win the hard and honest way.
Tell me what players would want to play for a coach actively recruiting several players? How do they know that the next year the coach will not want to give their minutes away to another “star recruit” as they desperately try to justify their obviously lacking coaching ability by winning with superior talent.

Kalgoorlie hosting a quiz night later in the month for "the official launch of their fundraising efforts to help put a goldfields giants women's team into the NBL1 West competition as of 2022"

Good on them, they have strong female participation in town and the sponsors to back it up. Definitely has been a slow burn with the women’s team in divi 1 for a few years now.

Free for all. Coaching companies piss in the parents pockets about how good the kids are and talk them in to moving to where they coach. See Willo girls to Lakeside and PL via coaches this off season.

Nbl schedule set with the final round finishing in the first week of June.

Any team with cats players will be hoping that the final series doesn't extend beyond weekend of 28 June - any later and the cats players won't qualify for finals.
